Steps Around The World is a mobile game operated by MNP Digital ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how the game collects and uses data required for the app to function. By installing or using the game you agree to the practices described below.
Health Data — Step count
The game reads your device's step count (sometimes called step sensor, pedometer, or step counter data). Step count data is considered Health Data by many privacy laws and platforms because it relates to physical activity.
Nothing else
Steps Around The World does not create user accounts, profiles, or otherwise collect personal identifiers such as name, email address, postal address, or phone number. No additional personal data is required for the game to work.
We do not use step data for advertising, marketing, or to build profiles about you.
Access to Health Data is provided only after you grant the required permission on your Android device. Granting that permission is your explicit consent for the app to read step count data for the purposes described in this policy.
Step data used by the game is stored locally on your device. The app does not upload step data to our servers or to any third-party service by default.
If a future feature gives you the option to export or sync steps (for example, to a cloud backup or fitness service), that action will be explicitly optional and you will be informed before any data leaves your device.
You can revoke the game's access to step data at any time via your Android system settings. If you revoke permission the game will no longer receive step updates and related features will stop working until permission is granted again.
By default, Steps Around The World does not share or sell step data to third parties. The app does not create server-side user profiles, and no account linking is performed.
If we later integrate a third-party service (for example, for crash reporting or analytics), any access to usage data will be limited to non-identifying technical information unless we explicitly notify you and request consent for additional data collection.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data stored within the app on your device. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure—absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
The game is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect Health Data or personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided data through the app, please contact us to request deletion.
Step data retained by the app remains on your device for as long as the app is installed and the local data is not cleared. If you uninstall the app, local data including step data stored by the app will be removed according to your device's uninstall behavior.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a policy change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
